Hogs 'N Dogs Night Closes Out 2008 Harness Season The seventh annual Hogs ‘N Dogs Night will be the featured attraction Saturday, July 12. The event will include Weiner Dog races and a motorcycle show in conjunction with the final night of Standardbred racing for the 2008 season. Registration continues for the Weiner Dog races and motorcycle show. To get your dog in the competition, go to www.hoosierpark.com and register under Events and Promotions. Limited space is still available, with the first 30 Dachshunds accepted for competition in the exhibition races. The Weiner Dog sprints will be held between the regular horse races beginning at 6:45 p.m. All fees from the Weiner Dog races and motorcycle show participants will go to Countryside Animal Rescue, an all-volunteer, not for profit, pet welfare group for unwanted cats and dogs in the Madison County area. Registration for the motorcycle show can also be made on-line or the day of the event. Check-in begins at 4 p.m. with the motorcycle show held from 6 until 8:30 p.m. Five categories will be offered with a $100 prize and award plaque going to each winner. Fees for both the Weiner Dog races and the motorcycle show are $10 each, with the fee including a free t-shirt and $10 in dining credits at Hoosier Park. In addition to Weiner Dog races and the motorcycle show, Hogs ‘N Dogs night will offer live entertainment provided by Stagecoach and kids activities, including face painting, a mechanical bull, bounce house with slide, and an inflatable obstacle course. Entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m. Club Centaur Rewards members will receive a Hogs ‘N Dogs t-shirt while supplies last. Membership into Club Centaur is free to guests 21 and over and can be obtained at one of the Club Centaur Rewards Centers located at the main entrance of the casino and racing facility. Hoosier Park Racing & Casino in Anderson, Ind., is central Indiana’s premier entertainment destination, featuring 2,000 electronic gaming devices; Standardbred, Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing; and wholecard simulcasting. Hoosier Park Racing & Casino is a wholly owned property of Centaur Gaming, which also owns and operates Fortune Valley Hotel and Casino in Central City, Colo., and is seeking final approval to develop Valley View Downs in western Pennsylvania.
